Otvorenie nového Športového centra UNIZA

Žilinská univerzita v Žiline dňa 15. apríla 2025 po vyše roku a pol intenzívnych stavebných prác slávnostne otvorila brány svojho nového Športového centra. Moderná multifunkčná hala pri internátoch Veľký Diel ponúkne profesionálne zázemie pre halové športy na európskej úrovni – od volejbalu cez basketbal až po bojové športy či kultúrne podujatia.

Slávnostným otvorením za prítomností vážených hostí z radov UNIZA, mesta Žilina, ŽSK ako aj zástupcov športových klubov sprevádzal komentátor Marcel Merčiak. Diváci zažili bubnovú show, vypočuli si slávnostný príhovor rektora Žilinskej univerzity či zasúťažili si o vecné ceny. Vrcholom večera bol zápas volejbalistiek VA UNIZA. Športové centrum UNIZA bude slúžiť nielen študentom, ale aj športovým klubom, školám a širokej verejnosti.

Opening of the new UNIZA Sports Centre

On 15 April 2025, after more than a year and a half of intensive construction works, the University of Žilina officially opened the doors of its new Sports Centre. The modern multifunctional hall near the Veľký Diel dormitories will offer professional facilities for indoor sports at the European level – from volleyball to basketball to martial arts and cultural events.

The opening ceremony in the presence of distinguished guests from UNIZA, the city of Žilina, and the Žilina self-governing region, as well as representatives of sports clubs, was accompanied by commentator Marcel Merčiak. The audience enjoyed a drum show, listened to the ceremonial speech of the rector of the University of Žilina and competed for prizes. The highlight of the evening was the match of VA UNIZA volleyball players. The UNIZA Sports Centre will serve not only students but also sports clubs, schools and the general public.

Motio oslavuje 1 rok plný vedy a zážitkov

Zážitkové centrum na popularizáciu vedy a techniky Motio, ktoré vzniklo na UNIZA v spolupráci s Nadáciou Kia Slovakia, oslavuje 1. výročie svojej existencie. Za prvý rok ho navštívilo viac než 4 000 návštevníkov – predovšetkým žiakov základných a stredných škôl z celého Žilinského kraja, ale aj rodiny s deťmi či verejnosť so záujmom o vedu.

Motio aktuálne ponúka 38 interaktívnych exponátov, virtuálnu realitu a čoskoro aj nové robotické laboratórium RoboLab, na ktorom sa už intenzívne pracuje. Centrum sa rýchlo stáva dôležitým priestorom pre objavovanie, tvorivosť a inšpiráciu pre všetky vekové kategórie. Každú druhú sobotu je otvorené aj pre verejnosť.

Motio celebrates 1 year full of science and experiences

The Motio Experience Centre for the popularisation of science and technology, which was established at UNIZA in cooperation with the Kia Slovakia Foundation, is celebrating its 1st anniversary. In its first year, it was visited by more than 4,000 visitors – mainly primary and secondary school pupils from the whole Žilina region, but also families with children and the public interested in science.

Motio currently offers 38 interactive exhibits and virtual reality and soon also a new robotics laboratory, RoboLab, which is already under intensive development. The Centre is quickly becoming an important space for discovery, creativity and inspiration for all ages. It is also open to the public every other Saturday.

Študenti UNIZA pracujú s medicínskou technikou svetovej úrovne

Študenti Biomedicínskeho inžinierstva na FEIT UNIZA získali prístup k ultramodernému ultrazvukovému systému ACUSON SC2000 PRIME vďaka spolupráci so spoločnosťou Siemens Healthineers. Ide o jedno z najpokročilejších zariadení na svete, ktoré umožňuje realistickú simuláciu diagnostických vyšetrení priamo počas štúdia.

Nová technológia dopĺňa už existujúce VR pracovisko pre výučbu ovládania CT prístrojov a výrazne tak zvyšuje praktickú pripravenosť študentov na reálnu prax v zdravotníctve. UNIZA je aktuálne jedinou slovenskou univerzitou s takýmto vybavením. Táto spolupráca otvára dvere k inováciám aj atraktívnym kariérnym príležitostiam našich študentov.

UNIZA students work with world-class medical technology

Students of biomedical engineering at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology UNIZA gained access to the ultramodern ultrasound system ACUSON SC2000 PRIME thanks to the cooperation with Siemens Healthineers. This is one of the most advanced devices in the world, which allows realistic simulation of diagnostic examinations directly during studies.

The new technology complements the existing VR workplace for teaching the operation of CT machines and thus significantly increases the practical readiness of students for real practice in healthcare. UNIZA is currently the only Slovak university with such equipment. This cooperation opens the door to innovation and attractive career opportunities for our students.
